Arrests Made Following Violent Incident at Derry Football Match

Two men have been arrested following a serious assault during a football match at the weekend.

Arrest Details

They were arrested earlier today, Thursday, April 17, relating to an assault which took place during the Derry City v Drogheda United match at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium in Derry at around 9.20pm on Friday, April 11. The victim sustained a number of injuries including a broken arm and neck injuries.

Police Statement

Police said the assault took place adjacent to turnstile I/J at the stadium as the game was being played. The two men have been arrested on suspicion of offenses including grievous bodily harm, and both remain in custody at this time.
