The Priciest Pint in the UK - Lisburn's Surprising Title

A Northern Ireland city has been named the most expensive place in the UK for a pint, but it's not Belfast. Data analysed by a business comparison service has put the estimated average cost of a pint in Lisburn at £6.10 - the most expensive in the entire UK - with Belfast in joint third place alongside the likes of London, Oxford, and Cambridge with a £6 average.
UK Pint Price Rankings
The figures were analysed by a comparison service for business, Bionic. The report was based on figures from Statista and the Office for National Statistics.
A spokesperson for Bionic said: "With approximately 45,350 pubs operating across the UK, it’s clear that Brits enjoy a visit to their local and with beer garden season nearly upon us, there is nothing they enjoy more than a cheap pint of beer or cider in the sun." However, due to increasing running costs and decreasing support for the hospitality industry, the average price of a pint in the UK is now at £4.52, a 15% increase from £3.90 in 2024. But, this price increase hasn't stopped Brits from wanting a pint. In fact, searches for 'beer garden' have soared 55% in the past month with over 56K people in the UK searching for the term in the past 30 days alone. With temperatures set to rise, more of us may be looking for the best and cheapest places to get a pint this weekend.
