15-Year-Old Teen Faces Court for Assault on Glider Youth Group

Officers investigating the report of an assault on a Glider in West Belfast have charged a teenage boy to court. The Incident Details The 15-year-old has been charged with common assault and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. It comes after an incident on Easter Sunday, April 20. At approximately 6.50pm, it was reported that an altercation had broken out involving approximately 20 youths who were travelling on the vehicle. A passenger, who intervened, was attacked, sustaining injuries to his face and head. He was taken to hospital for treatment. In a brief PSNI statement this afternoon, a spokesperson said the teenager is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday, May 19. Legal Proceedings "As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service," they added.
