Roads Reopen in Glengormley
Roads in the Glengormley area have reopened after an incident on Wednesday evening. The Ballyclare Road was closed due to a road traffic incident after 4 pm on April 2. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, NI Air Ambulance, and PSNI were tasked to the scene of the serious road traffic collision involving a bus and a pedestrian. A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "The Ballyclare Road area of Glengormley has now fully reopened to all road users following an earlier serious road traffic collision. A further update will be provided in due course."

Posting on social media earlier on Wednesday evening, Sinn Féin Councillor for Glengormley, Eamonn McLaughlin said: "Serious road traffic incident a short time ago in Glengormley town centre. Police have said there are a number of road closures in place as a result of the incident and have urged drivers to avoid the area. Thoughts with all those involved." The Wee Bistro on the Ballyclare Road put a statement on social media saying: "Due to road closure on the Ballyclare Road due to a serious accident we have closed for the remainder of today. Apologies we will reopen at 8 am tomorrow".

Thoughts with all those involved." #ULB due to an RTC in Glengormley Ulsterbus services are currently diverted & subject to delays & disruption. They will not serve Harmin Pde, Rose Pk & Burneys lane stops until further notice. A Translink spokesperson said: "We can confirm a Metro bus was involved in a road traffic incident near the Ballyclare Road in Newtownabbey at around 4.30 pm today. Emergency services and the PSNI attended the scene. Translink is assisting the PSNI with their investigation." Police are advising of delays in the Glengormley area following a serious road traffic collision involving a bus and a pedestrian. A number of road closures have been put in place. Diversions are on the Antrim Road at the junction with the Hightown Road, the Antrim Road at the junction with Jubilee Way and Jubilee Way at the junction with the Ballyclare Road. Please avoid the area if possible. From early reports from the scene, it is understood that the incident involved the bus and a pedestrian. We have been told that the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance has landed in Glengormley On their website, they said: "Glengormley - the Ballyclare Road is closed near Glencairn Drive following a fairly serious road traffic collision - delays can be expected. Police attending". It is reported a bus was involved in a road traffic incident on Wednesday evening. We have contacted NIAS and PSNI for further information.
