Crafty Gang in Flowing Attire Suspected in Spate of High-Value Thefts

An organised gang wearing 'long flowing clothing' may be behind a series of high-value thefts in various areas of Northern Ireland. The increase in thefts has been reported in multiple regions such as Fermanagh, Armagh, and Mid Ulster, with the thieves exhibiting a consistent 'modus operandi'.

Police Alert
A spokesperson for the PSNI stated, 'We believe an organised gang may be behind the thefts and we are working hard behind the scenes to identify those involved. In doing so, we have noticed a few key traits vital for retailers to be aware of to prevent such crimes.'

Thief Tactics
The suspects, predominantly female, are reported to target high-value alcohol, particularly brandy and champagne, from smaller community shops. They disguise stolen items under layers of long flowing clothing and carry rucksacks or large bags. The gang appears to operate in groups, often entering stores in pairs or trios.

Community Appeal
The PSNI calls on business owners and the public to report any suspicions promptly, emphasizing the importance of CCTV installation and the use of anti-theft measures. Information provided by the community is essential for developing an effective police response.
