The Hidden Challenges of Returning to Work After Parental Leave

A recent study has shown that parents take an average of four months to readjust to the workplace after returning from parental leave.
Anxiety and Uncertainty
The survey, which questioned 1,000 working parents with children under five, discovered that 53 per cent were anxious about missing significant milestones in their child's life, such as their first steps. This concern led a remarkable nine out of ten parents to consider not returning to work at all. The report indicated that two-thirds of parents were worried about juggling work and parenting responsibilities, while 39 per cent were uncertain about managing the transition.
