Heartbreak in Paradise: The Tragic Story of James Gribben Revealed

The Northern Ireland man who died tragically in a swimming accident in the Caribbean at the weekend has tonight been named.
Tragic Loss:
James Gribben, from Co Armagh, had been in the Dominican Republic when he passed away on Sunday. The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that they are providing consular assistance.
Remembering James:
The exact circumstances of James' death are not known at this stage. A death notice published on Facebook by JJ McArdle and Sons Funeral Directors on Tuesday March 25 read: "Gribben James R.I.P, Armagh 23rd March 2025. As the result of a swimming accident in the Dominican Republic. Loving son of John and Aideen, dearest brother of Tomas, Brendan and Henry. Funeral arrangements will be published when available. Very deeply regretted by his sorrowing family and friends." One tribute said: "An absolute gent of a man had the pleasure of working with him and attending Armagh games with him, may he rest in eternal peace."

In a statement to Belfast Live, a spokesperson for the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs said: "The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of this case and is providing consular assistance.
