Breakthrough: Arrest Made in Investigation of Journalist's Cold Case Murder

A man has been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Northern Ireland journalist Martin O’Hagan 24 years ago. Details of the Arrest

Mr O’Hagan was killed by loyalist paramilitaries in Lurgan, Co Armagh in 2001. No-one has ever been successfully prosecuted for his murder. The PSNI confirmed that detectives from its Legacy Investigation Branch have arrested a 42-year-old man as part of the overall investigation. He was arrested in the Sheffield area on Thursday morning, with the assistance of Counter Terrorism Policing North East and South Yorkshire Police, and has been transported to Northern Ireland for questioning in the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave Police Station.
