The Triumphant Return of Marc Mallett: From UTV to BBC

Former UTV newsreader Marc Mallett has returned to broadcasting after his departure from the channel was announced last November. The North Belfast man has joined the Radio Bulletins newsreading team for the BBC in Belfast as part of several recent appointments for the newsroom.
Broadcasting Journey
Mr. Mallett, who previously worked at Citybeat and hospital radio in the Royal Victoria Hospital, is known for hosting current affairs programs and election debates at UTV. He disappeared from screens for several months, sparking social media inquiries about his whereabouts, before UTV confirmed his departure after 17 years.
New Horizons
Now, Mr. Mallett takes on a part-time newsreading role with the BBC, as the newsroom witnesses various changes in presenter line-ups and programming schedules. These shifts reflect the evolving landscape of radio broadcasting in Belfast and beyond.
