Man Arrested for Drink Driving, Assaults Police Officer in Newry

A man in Newry facing drink-driving charges escalated to assaulting a police officer after being found four times over the limit.

At around 11am yesterday, Monday, April 14, police in Newry were alerted to a suspected drunk driver. The individual was tested to be four times over the legal limit and was being processed in custody when he punched an officer.
