Armagh GAA Trip Scandal: Man Charged with Sexual Assault

A man arrested on suspicion of sex offences linked to an Armagh GAA trip to Miami has been charged with four offences.

In a brief statement issued by the PSNI on Monday evening, they said the 30-year-old is due in court next month.
Solicitor's Response
In a separate statement, the man’s solicitor said he “maintains his innocent and has instructed me to contest the charges”.
Charges and Court Appearance
The man was arrested on 10th December 2024 on suspicion of sexual-related offences alleged to have taken place in the United States of America in November 2024. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. The suspect is due to appear at Armagh Magistrates’ Court on 6th May. The Public Prosecution Service will review all charges.
Legal Representation
Solicitor Patrick Higgins reacted to the charges, stating his shock and emphasizing his client's cooperation with the investigation. Mr Higgins questioned the necessity of the arrest and expressed his intentions to challenge the charges. He highlighted concerns about the fairness of the trial.
