Teen Stabbed in Face and Head: Man Charged in Co Down

Police have charged a 25-year-old man after reports of a stabbing in Co Down on Friday evening. Shortly before 7:45 pm last night, officers received a report that a man had been stabbed with a blade in the Dundrum Road area of Newcastle.

Details of the Incident
The victim, a teenager, sustained multiple stab wounds to the face and head. APSNI spokesperson stated that the man has been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He is scheduled to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates Court.

Police Investigation
A 16-year-old boy, who was also arrested, has been released on bail to allow for further investigations. The Public Prosecution Service will review all charges as per standard procedure.
