Emergency Services Respond to Serious Collision on Andersonstown Road

The emergency services are currently in attendance at a serious collision on Andersonstown Road this morning.
Incident Details
The collision has taken place on the busy West Belfast road close to Casement Park just after 9am this morning with road users being advised to avoid the area. The road has been closed in both directions while the emergency services deal with the incident.

APSNI spokesperson said: 'Road users are advised that the Andersonstown Road in West Belfast is currently closed in both directions following a road traffic collision near the junction with Dunmisk Park. Please avoid the area and seek alternative routes for your journey.'
Traffic Update
There is also another collision that has taken place in West Belfast this morning on Springfield Road with police warning of traffic congestion. A PSNI spokesperson said: 'Road users are advised to expect some traffic congestion in the Springfield Road area of West Belfast due to a collision. The road is passable with care - please exercise caution as you approach the area. Emergency services are at the scene.'

West Belfast MLA Gerry Carrol said: 'Folks, just letting people know there's been a serious car accident on the Andytown road outside Casement with the road closed both ways. I hope those impacted are safe and well.' Councillor Paul Doherty: 'Serious road accident on the Andersonstown Road at the bottom of Dunmusk. The road will remain closed in both directions for some time. Our thoughts and prayers are with anyone involved in this terrible incident.'
