Conservative Leader Calls for Action Against Kneecap for Anti-Tory Rhetoric

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has demanded the prosecution of rap trio Kneecap for allegedly calling for the death of Tory MPs.

The Incident
Video emerged of the group at a November 2023 gig appearing to show one member saying: “The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP.” Mrs Badenoch said Kneecap’s “anti-British hatred has no place in our society” as she called for them to face action.

Scotland Yard Investigation
Scotland Yard is looking into the incident, along with another concert from November 2024 where a band member appeared to shout “up Hamas, up Hezbollah” - groups banned as terrorist organizations in the UK.

Reaction and Calls for Accountability
After the murder of Sir David Amess, Mrs. Badenoch emphasized the need for prosecution, with Sir David's daughter calling for an apology. The rappers have claimed a smear campaign and voiced concerns about the treatment of Palestinians, but law enforcement is assessing the videos for potential legal breaches.

Current Status
Counter-terrorism police are assessing footage from the concerts, and Kneecap's management has been approached for comment in response to the demand for prosecution.
