Breaking Barriers: Why Some Kids Can't Try Sports

A new survey of 1,000 children aged five to 16 uncovered the main reasons why some kids are unable to try sports or physical activities. Main Barriers: Parents cited lack of nearby facilities as the primary obstacle, followed by cost and their child's lack of confidence. To address this issue, Olympic skateboarding star Lola Tambling partnered with Weetabix to encourage young people to explore new sports. An event at BaySixty6 Skatepark featured Lola sharing tips and tricks with fans. Inspiring Activity: Family, friends, and teachers were identified as key sources of inspiration for children to get active. Team sports were preferred by many kids, with walking and football being popular activities. Weetabix spoke about the event's aim of promoting new activities to help youngsters discover new hobbies and passions.
