Irish Country Star Welcomes Fourth Grandchild with Joy

Joyful Announcement

Daniel O'Donnell and his wife Majella are delighted as they announce the birth of their fourth grandchild. Majella's son Michael and his partner Sarah, based in Australia, are celebrating the arrival of their firstborn — a baby boy. Speaking about the excitement back home in Ireland, the country music legend revealed that although they're eager to cuddle the new family member, it won't be long until they meet.

Excitement Builds

In an interview with RSVP Magazine, Daniel shared, 'Majella's son Michael and his wife Sarah, they live there and they just had their first baby on 4th April at 4am in Australia. His name is Jack.' He went on to say, 'There's great excitement. You would be wishing that you were there. There will be plenty of WhatsApps and they'll be home in July. We're looking forward to having everyone together then for a new family photo.' 'They will come again in December. Majella is going out in September and her daughter Siobhan is going in May. The world is small now.' Daniel also humorously anticipated the little one's Aussie twang when he comes to Ireland: 'A wee Aussie! It's funny.' The Donegal star already boasts three other grandchildren - Archie, Olivia, and Luke - through Majella's daughter Siobhan and her husband Gavin.

Beautiful Memories

Michael and Sarah tied the knot last year during a beautiful ceremony set in the charming landscapes of Italy. Daniel fondly remembered spending quality time with his family on the special occasion, but one tradition didn't quite sit well with grandson Archie. Daniel explained on the Late Late Show: 'Sarah's people family are from Greece. During the dancing, people were breaking plates as is customary with [the culture],' 'Archie was standing with me and said, 'Grandad, what are they doing?' and I said, 'Oh that's something that the Greek people do, they break plates,' and he looked at me and said, 'That's an awful waste of money'. He has the head well screwed on.'
