Epic Journey of the Claret Jug: A Preview of The Open at Royal Portrush

The Claret Jug arrived in Belfast on Monday ahead of The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush.
An Epic Journey:
Part of 'The Epic Journey', it teed off at Belfast City Hall on April 28, and will go to Kerr Street Green in Portrush on May 2, and then to Ebrington Square in Derry on May 7. It will also feature a stop in Tullamore, Co Offaly, which will take place on May 21 at O’Connor Square - the home of the 2019 Champion Golfer of the Year, Shane Lowry. This free public event will showcase how Northern Ireland is ‘Made for Golf’ and sports fans have the chance to take photos with the world-famous Claret Jug.

Epic Journey Continues:
The Epic Journey to The 153rd Open will also include a giant #TheOpen letter sculpture, designed by Tourism NI and made out of 4,000 golf balls, which was unveiled by Rory McIlroy ahead of the 2019 Championship.
